“ Excellent Biryani and Kababs. Our new favourite place for Biryani ”
“ The sauces are fresh, the gravies are not too spicy and the Biryani was authentic – reminded me of Hyderabad ”
“ We have long waited for a South Asian restaurant in the Rockliffe neighborhood and we finally have Dhruvees that serves Fresh and Healthy options. The packaging is good and keeps the food hot for a long time. The staff are friendly and the availability of Dilmah T Series Tea varieties make this an exciting dining destination”

Had dinner at @Dhruveescanada on Friday. Sri Lankan Pepper Crab, stunning… To all my friends in the New Edinburgh area of Ottawa, do yourself a huge favour and try the amazing new South Asia restaurant Dhruvees Canada. Best Indian/Sri Lankan/Indonesian food in Ottawa.
Stopped by @Dhruveescanada in New Edinburgh this afternoon and had the Tandoori Chicken Wings… by far the best wings I’ve ever had! If you’re in Ottawa, and like South Asian food, try this place! (try the Mango Lassi’s while you’re there… incredible).
This was a great moment for me and my team @Dhruveescanada . Thank you @JimWatsonOttawa . @ctvottawa @SEOCHC @Food4Ottawa @DishcrawlOTT @ottawacity @ottawasuncom @MyOttawa613 twitter.com/JimWatsonOttaw…
Congratulations @DonWingell from a dream to reality. Seems only yesterday when you shared your vision with me. Wishing @Dhruveescanada great success and enjoyment on the journey ahead . twitter.com/TheVikasKhanna…
Dhruvees stands out among Ottawa restaurants offering South Asian cuisine because it does not focus on just one country but offers you the cuisines of three countries - India, Sri Lanka and Indonesia. As well, the menu items have carefully selected ingredients that set them apart from other restaurants, such as the special long grain Basmati rice in the biryanis. Each country uses different spices and seasonings which create unique and very flavorful food. The best way to enjoy this is to go with four or more people and share a number of dishes in order to sample and contrast the differences. We especially enjoyed an Indonesian specialty, the lamb rendang. Also very good was the chicken tikka. Each dish is accompanied by sauces and condiments which compliment the particular item. To finish off our meal we shared a bowl of wonderful carrot halwa. The owner, Donald Wingell, was on the floor, answered all of our questions and was very helpful with suggestions. The restaurant space has been re-done in a modern look with hints of South Asia. We thoroughly enjoyed our evening there.
Best Indian Restaurant in Ottawa. If you’re looking for authentic Indian flavors with great ambiance and friendly staff, this is the place. The owner himself takes great pride in serving you and taking his valuable time to offer the right choices you and your family would enjoy eating. They also offered us the lemonade and ice tea which were not even listed on their menu items. They go above and beyond to cook something special for your family if you plan your trip well in advance, they will make sure to make your day.
With choice of flavorful Indian, Sri Lankan, Malaysian and Indonesian Cuisines, Dhruvees will keep you coming back for more. You know the food is amazing when you are stuffed and you crave more of the Lamb cutlets on your way home. These are not on the menu so make sure you remember to ask for it. All the items we tried were beautifully spiced to perfection. Our son who is picky eater ate the samosas, lamb cutlets, chicken biriyani and hoppers. The owner Donald and his staff provide an amazing personal touch with their interactions. This is my new favorite restaurant for Sri Lankan food. I can't wait to check out their Sunday brunch with some great Sri Lankan options made by Sri Lankan executive chef. You have to check this place out if you are in Ottawa.
Sunday brunch menu, many options. Awesome.. best pakoras (onion + potato) I've had in and Ottawa restaurant in 40 years. Dosa (crispy) was authentic, great chutneys too. Also had the goat curry, which was delicious - good sized portion, though only 2 chappattis (rotis) came with it (if rice is chosen instead it seems to be a good amount), Highly recommend, would go there again.
